| 720569 | 2008-11-16 07:30:00 | brand new laptop, just a few things i wanted to check, Laptop: Compaq Presario CQ45 On the c:\ drive there is a folder called SWSetup, which is 2.64GB, what is this and do I really need it? Theres a recovery partiton (and in all honesty never liked them) is there a way to get that 10GB partition back into the main OS? |

| 720570 | 2008-11-16 07:45:00 | i don't think it would be a good idea to delete the recovery partition, since you might need it in the future if something goes wrong. the SWSetup contains all your driver packs and updates. it is a good idea to back it up first before deleting it . shouldn't cause any problems. cheers |

| 720572 | 2008-11-16 08:02:00 | No, not really. I'd keep the recovery, or if it gives you a choice, make some recovery CDs. If you really want to wipe it, Ghost your main partition first to another drive or something, then delete the partitions and make one then ghost back on to it. |

| 720574 | 2008-11-16 08:09:00 | slingplayer allows you to play videos etc without booting the laptop. labelprint as it's name suggests lets you make labels,, not necessary if you don't use it. not sure about teh Protectsmart program but from the sound of it its important. those Hp ones i never use so you can get rid of them. muvee is a video editing program, there are better ones out there so you could get rid of it. cheers |
