503611 2006-12-05 21:41:00 Yeah James. Maybe you should consider changing the nomination rules... enter everyone who's name has been mentioned. Plus a special award to our most prolific overseas contributor... SurferJoe deserves a t-shirt even if only to fly the NZ PCWorld flag over there Stateside.

Yes - James please do consider changing the nomination rules. A poll has a maximum of 10 choices so use all, not just 5. If there is only one winner at least the other 9 will have the recognition of being nominated.

James writes "You can nominate them based on their contribution to PressF1 section (i.e. helping others), how polite they are to others, or the services that they have provided to us such as chatf1 and imagef1 etc." - and this seems to be fine. If anyone wants to have other voting criterea, such as 'funniest, best humour' then they can do a separate poll. Hmmmmnnnn... the Ignoble Awards come to mind... maybe someone can think of a similar award for PF1.

503612 2006-12-05 21:43:00 Why not have categories for the dumbest, arguementative , and worst speller.

Then I might have a chance.

I could vote for myself in all 3 catagories... those crackers are awaful enticing

503613 2006-12-05 21:58:00 Many, many people contribute both to the technical sides of things as well as the community side of PF1 so it is hard to pick out anyone in particular.

My thoughts exactly Jen. It's just too hard to pin one award on so many deserving peoples. I think we all should win a Nod32 anti virus pack:D

No worries James, I've been called worse;)

503614 2006-12-06 02:00:00 Oh well. Based on various requested changes by prominent members of PressF1, I guess I will be more lenient about the regulations.

Changes: Any nominees who have been nominated once will be taken into the poll, provided that the person who nominates has contributed at least 50 posts to PressF1 PCWorld forum (regardless of PC-Chat or PressF1).

In the poll set on the 15th, each member of PressF1 can only vote for one nominee.

I am not including categories (for now) like "best entertainer", "best contributer" or others; how many types of dux does your school have?

It would be good if we can set up a "PressF1 award" committee after this so that things are more regulated; this thread was started because I was initially bored :D

Cheers :)

503615 2006-12-06 06:39:00 Actually, I don't think Fairfax Business Media employees - Jim and moi - should be included. We do get paid for it after all.

I'll see if I can rustle up some games from the old prize cupboard. There's a few oldies sitting in the back there, between the mouldy packet of crackers and the 27 copies of Bill Gates autobiography ...

503616 2006-12-06 07:29:00 Alrighty, enough of the cuddles and nicities, Though I do agree with everyone so far about how fantastic I am.

Anyhow, Start the Poll, I have a campaign to launch, voters to haress, and new mis-spellings to invent.

Let the games begin or just declare me the winner.

My name is Metla (Ok, its not really) and I enjoy half cooked red meat.

Actually, I was meant to say "the top 10 most nominated nominees", since the poll has a maximum of only 10 options.

Cheers :)
