We have no "Brain" (which is painfully obvious :lol: )

....but if someone says "in no particular order", then you either need to pin them down to specific members -- or not count their vote at all. Always, in these circumstances go for the option which causes you the least pain (otherwise you will surely regret it ----not least the time you waste :horrified )

My sincere apology to lazydog for the name mess-up (blame it on the recent exams, I still haven't got over it yet *grin sheepishly*)

Steve didn't actually say that the first two members mentioned were his chosen nominees, that's why I didn't take it for granted and instead had asked him to "re-nominate". If Steve didn't reply in time before the polling starts, I would have taken the first two anyway.

For quick help with viruses, spyware etc the award goes to speedy .

The award for hardware & software related issues goes to pctek, godfather,melta, drspy, gregg, jen, chilling silence .

The award for entertainment goes to melta .

The award for services to the community go to mejobloggs & danielF (for free webhosting) and beetle for pc chat .

And the prestigious pressF1 forums award goes to everyone who has participated in these forums to make it the great community it is . You all deserve a big pat on the back . :thumbs:

Hey Steve. Looks like I didn't quite make myself clear over there lol. What I meant to say was "the top 5 most nominated members will 'battle' out in the poll set on the 15th of December 2006". Right now every member can only nominate two other members.

503596 2006-12-05 04:32:00 Many, many people contribute both to the techncial sides of things as well as the community side of PF1 so it is hard to pick out anyone in particular .

I know of lots of cases where the helper has obviously spent some time researching a problem or answering in detail a question for a person, posted their advice and then they never hear back or get a single word of thanks from the original poster . It can be frustrating and I imagine they wonder why they bother at times . However, they still continue to generously give their time to others who are struggling with issues - minor or major . That is the spirit of PressF1 - giving without the expectation of reward . :)


I would like to put forward Parry's name . He generally keeps a low profile, popping up to answer those hard Excel questions . He has also gone out of his way many times to write specific formulae and VB code for people who are stuck with getting Excel to do what they require . This sort of help cannot be found with google but comes from the experience of the person .


Godfather is the other person I wish to put forward . A fountain of knowledge . What else can I say .



PS* I would also like to nominate James, the FairfaxBM/NZ PC World website/server guru who spent some considerable time fixing up PF1 when the wheels flew off big time recently . If we are extra nice to him he might even correct the time on PF1 before Christmas . :p 		Jen (38)

It is easy to forget those that don't have an active presence.
