Start > Run > Type DXDIAG > Wait for the progress bar in the bottom left hand corner to complete > Click Save All Information > save it somewhere > Open it > copy and paste onto this thread.

720903 2008-11-18 08:45:00 Telling us the model and/or build number of your Hewlett Packard (should be on a sticker/s on the case (side or rear usually) would be good, we already know its got Xp Sp3, IE7, Norton AV/Systemworks etc :nerd:
I'd go for overheating too, or maybe a motherboard or ram problem.

720909 2008-11-20 08:54:00 Well Sweavo if you go with the faulty components theory and you want to fix it yourself.
You may have to go down the swaparooni path that is swop known good components with yours and see what happens.
Parts are cheap as dirt, start with ram, powersupply, then motherboard if needed.
If you go with a software theory do a clean install of XP and see what happens
512 mb of ram for XP isnt really stella so spending a few pesos on ram wont be the end .
of the world.
The computer wont fix itself it will probaly get worse which actualy makes trouble shooting a bit easier.
So you either try a few things or take it to an expert like pctech etc in your hood.
