720633 2008-11-19 20:12:00 When you installed windows back on the laptop did you install the Dell drivers as well ?? - these need to be installed other wise many functions wont work.

Go here for drivers (support.dell.com) --- Hopefully that will take you directly to the download page for your laptop, if it doesn't from the box that appears, select model/laptops/latitude/D620 / XP and download and install the required drivers.

720634 2008-11-19 20:16:00 I take it one of these is also an access point / can be used as an access point??

If youre using wireless

Before trying to install the wireless drivers etc, have you installed the chipset / sound / LAN drivers??

Is SP2 / 3 installed on this PC you reinstalled XP on??

Because I think you need at least SP2 for wireless / WPA to work

If you want to use the Windows wireless program, you'll have to uninstall the Phillips program. Hopefully, when you uninstall the Phillips program, it doesnt uninstall the drivers. Because, I would say the wireless wont work.

Thats probably, why it wont let you use the Windows program. (Go to network connections / right mouse on the wireless connection).
