721004 2008-11-18 00:16:00 I just signed up for slingshot's the big thing which offers me adsl2+ .
Now, I have 1 wired router (dynalink RTA300 - used for modem not compatible with adsl2+) and 1 wireless router (linksys wrt54g - don't know whether it compatible with adsl2+ or not) .
I have two (somethimes three) computers connected to internet/fileshare with wireless only .

To use adsl2+ properly(full speed) what do I need to have? Do I need a new modem/router? or I can just change the modem?

wall --- rta300 ---- wrt54g . . (wireless) . . computers(wireless usb adaptors)

721005 2008-11-18 00:21:00 You only need one modem / router / which includes wireless, if you want it

It'll probably be better getting one (instead of a router / modem separately)

As a lot of people in here, seem to have probs, with getting 2 separate devices, to communicate with each other properly sometimes

Altho, I wouldnt pick Slingshot for BB. Some people in here, have said in previous posts, its not that great

If yrun is going to ADSL2 then yrun will be using Vodafone ADSL2 network & not Slingshot's network.

721008 2008-11-18 01:27:00 Then why did he say Slingshot in the first post?

It'll probably be worse then

721010 2008-11-18 03:39:00 you'll need a new device which can use ADSL2+ to take advantage of the adsl2+ speeds.

If your wireless router has a modem in it, check if it is 2+ compatible. Then you wont even need the dynalink...

It does not have a modem in it...
darn it, I did not know they are reselling it from vodafone..
Recently, during offpeak(1am-7am), I get the download speed less than 20K/s.
I guess before I signed up with slingshot I should've searched this forum.

So, I need to get a new modem/router... what brand and model would you recommend?

721012 2008-11-18 05:16:00 signup with telecom and get a thompson wireless adsl2 modem router all-in-one and problem solved. I was with SS for 2 weeks and now with telecom on adsl2. download for SS is 2k-30k and telecom is constant at 2000k-2200k. cityhunter2000 (8700)
721013 2008-11-18 09:32:00 The thompson routers are horrible.
I would recommend going with linksys. Dlink make good ADSL routers, but I've found their wireless to be unreliable. Belkin I've had no trouble with, but other techs hate them, so probably best to not go there either.
