720698 2008-11-16 23:59:00 I am having trouble with my wireless network.

I got a couple of laptops that connect to the wireless router which is a
DSE 802.11g Access Point XH8287
Running through a
DSE ADSL Router UTP XH1169

I have had no problems with these two pieces of hardware until now and I don't believe the problem is in them. The desktop is wired direct to the router and the AP is wired to the router also the AP signal goes out and hits both laptops and sometimes another desktop depending on whats running.

I think the problem is in the laptop thats not working cause the other connections are fine.
I reset the AP to factory and redid all the settings on it and the computers, the others picked it up and connected easily but this laptop just won't.

I ran the WinSockFix.exe on it but that didn't help, redid all the settings, again no help, I tired to delete it to redo the connection but it wouldn't let me do that.

As far as I can tell its configured correctly (same as the others anyway) but just won't work, any idea what I could check/try next?

720699 2008-11-17 01:15:00 Are you using any encryption or MAC address filtering?

this may be the issue.... that or the WLAN adapter has had it.

720700 2008-11-17 08:58:00 It maybe worth re-installing the wireless network card driver on the offending laptop. I have seen the situation a number of times where nothing could be found wrong but this action fixed it! johnd (85)

Will try the driver thing.

720702 2008-11-17 21:51:00 Driver did the trick.
Its weird thou as you said nothing outwardly wrong with it.

Thanks John.
