MW = Medium Wave, an archaic term beloved of Europeans. (long wave, medium wave, short wave etc)

If you stick with MW (or broadcast band as we also call it) and follow those conventions, FM should be called shortwave or VHF.

Anyway, no, you won't find an MP3 player with MW, BC or AM on it, there is no real demand, probably because you don't get stereo and it is hard to miniaturise an effective antenna system and the tuning.

AM/BC/MW radios are dirt cheap, just buy one.

504070 2006-12-04 03:24:00 They (reviews.cnet.com) are available but very rare and looking at the review it wasn't a great player anyway. CYaBro (73)
504071 2006-12-04 06:15:00 The reason is as per BT's post, that the ferrite antenna and tuning capacitor for MW will be as large or larger than a typical MP3 player.

Any smaller and it will be crap as far as reception quality goes.

Hence not many are available, and if they are may be quite poor in MW performance. The one in the link appears quite large, which probably accommodates the required parts but makes it less attractive to buyers.
