503508 2006-12-02 01:03:00 Does anyone know of a good place to get replacement drivebelts for the tray mechanics of cd/dvd drives? Agent_24 (57)
503509 2006-12-02 01:09:00 Try here (search.dse.co.nz 6ef&site=&w=Drive+belts&submit.x=6&submit.y=9&submit=Go) ? R2x1 (4628)
503510 2006-12-02 02:05:00 You could also try a electronic repair shop.

503512 2008-08-15 05:36:00 Yeah I know this was 2 years go, but for anyone who cares, I recently found you can buy suitable drive belts from tradetech (www.tradetech.co.nz) - They're under the Audio parts section

Don't need an account, just a credit/debit card

503514 2008-08-16 04:52:00 hey even two years ago drives were NOT worth bothering to fix........unless you have LOTS of time to waste drcspy (146)

503516 2008-08-16 06:19:00 You could probably buy two new DVD drives and a new cupboard for less than the cost of fixing one CD drive. ;) R2x1 (4628)

Can work but usually the belts are the wrong size, and are probably in worse condition...

Well I would say that if it was any other part, but drivebelts are cheap, and very easy to replace

Unlikely, I bought 3 new belts for 3 CD-RW drives (the other 2 failed later) at 90c a piece + $5 postage. Last time I checked on pricespy, brand new DVD drives were $35 each and as far as I know cupboards are more.. :D

Other than the trays not working (had to use paperclips) there is nothing wrong with the drives. Still using them today. Fix was very cheap and easy - why bother with anything else?
