| 721670 | 2008-11-20 08:10:00 | Hi everyone, I'll have an old laptop pretty soon, and I'd like to put it to good use. I was just wondering if I could remove the laptop screen from the laptop and use it as an EXTERNAL screen, through a VGA port for example. Just a thought that ran through my mind. Is it possible or just silicon pie in the sky? |

| 721672 | 2008-11-20 09:32:00 | The laptop is about 4 years old, an HP NX7010 (Centrino 1.7GHz, 64MB Nvidia GPU). Everything is good on it except the grpahics card. Got burnt out about 6 months ago. So instead of having it rot, I thought I might use it for parts, which is the original question of the post. Oh well. |

Can't imagine it would be any good as a frisbee. The actual connectors to the screen are the same as inside LCD screens (I think), but you'd need some sort of interface for that. In a laptop this works on the MoBo. So sorry, you're probably out of luck. |
