721393 2008-11-19 06:00:00 Anyone have a cure for scannow not working?. In "Run" I type "sfc /scannow" & all I get is a millisec. of a box flashing past then nothing. I have run the scan before without trouble but now just nothing happens. XP SP3 Home. jebby (4580)
721394 2008-11-19 06:06:00 Are you running command prompt first??

Since if you type it from start/run, what youre seeing will happen

721399 2008-11-19 08:33:00 Speedy, in command I get the options "scannow-scanonce-scanboot-revert etc." What "S" do you mean. jebby (4580)

From your first post

In "Run" I type "sfc /scannow"

Did you put the " in when you typed it in the command prompt?? If you did, dont put the " in it

721401 2008-11-19 08:58:00 No Speedy, I didn't put "RUN" in the "open box", that was just my way of trying to explain what I was doing, as I said in first post I have been able to run the scan in the past but now it just doesn't want to play ball. After a reboot & trying a scannow, the progress bar comes up, sits there without showing any progress for about a minute then just disappers. jebby (4580)
721402 2008-11-19 09:15:00 I would look in event viewer (start/run, type eventvwr)

Look under application or system for any error/s. Or I would say something is corrupted
