2008-11-18 20:07:00 If your HDD from your laptop is sata than you need to buy a sata enclosure, you can get a sata to ide adaptor but than you wont be able to keep the HDD in the enclosure, see if you can return it to dick smith and get a sata enclosure... hope this helps. ronyville (10611)

2008-11-18 20:22:00 yes its that encloser. the inside of closure where you pluge hard drive in to. the DSE one had like 40 pin holes where mine either and big one like lego block size if i not using the circuit board which connected to it or if using circuit board its like a credit card size nzrocketman (14335)
2008-11-18 20:23:00 but if i use credit card size the board wont fit into enclouser as its built to have 2 hard drives.

can i cut the board up so only the adopter is there so it will fit

2008-11-18 20:41:00 I wouldnt be cutting anything up, i think it much easier for you to buy a sata enclosure, they are only around $20 on trademe. ronyville (10611)
2008-11-19 06:16:00 Take it back To Dicks and get the right one it will be so much easier than F^&%$ around trying to make things fit that were not meant to fit. Take the hard drive with you so you know it fits when you change the enclosure gary67 (56)
