| 504724 | 2006-12-11 05:15:00 | Hiya all, Great news! We've recieved sponsorship from Hottek/XPS and now have a Logitech G5 as the prepay prize for this event! Also, we've now recieved a 10% discount on Saturday breakfast at the Gusto Cafe downstairs. Prepare to mob the cafe downstairs at the time of 7-8AM, when they least expect it. We've got some other stuff in the pipeline, as well. This event is going to be fantastic! Looks can be decieving folks, 24 people might have registered, but I know of heaps who are too lazy to register. And you know what that means? They'll miss out. Register now and prepay to go into the draw for a FREE Logitech G5! Head over to www.xps.co.nz to browse our sponsor's website. |

| 504726 | 2006-12-11 11:25:00 | Bro, your image map on the LAN seating wasnt working when I tried :( Looks like fun though... few too many games to choose from thou dont you think? Ive run two in the last 6 months... although a variety can be fun, and you cater for more people, you find that theres less people in each game = less fun ;) Three days... never been to one that long... $25 aint bad either :) |

That little baby will be with me until I give up the game, which hopefully won't be anytime soon. Six hours solid riding? Hmm, five hours (with a break) over 80km+ is challenging enough for me. Especially on a course that includes newly plowed fields that feels like one is on the end of a jackhammer, up and down near-vertical hills and tracks, through a million creeks and streams and up their slippery banks, in forests full of gnarly exposed roots and small logs to scramble over and low-hanging branches to duck under. But when one stops for a rest, the views over the hills towards the Southern Alps with their snowy tops are absolutely spectacular. Must remember next time not to allow the much-more-superior-biker family member ride in front of me, though. It's dangerous enough trying to keep up with him without paying more attention to and giggling at his antics (wheelies, zig-zags, jumping off banks, etc) instead of watching the track ahead like I should be doing. <cough> Sorry for going off-topic Neongreen but it was an awesome day and I'm still on cloud nine. Anyway, it's keeping your thread bumped up to the top of the page. :p |

Bugger you, I woulda gotten it for cheap :( (I was freedompc) It won't work for you because you haven't registered/prepaid yet, and seat booking hasn't been opened for the next event yet. We had 70 people there mate, over 40 hours. It does get tedious playing the same game continously, so there was always 2-3 different games going on for people to hop into. Grab me on MSN mate, minersoft1@hotmail.com :) |

| 504729 | 2006-12-12 04:14:00 | Six hours solid riding? Hmm, five hours (with a break) over 80km+ is challenging enough for me . yep 6 hours twice, but it was four(?) laps on a 25km track, and the other time was the bombing range - dunes for miles including an hour trip via the forest on our trip there because we didn't check the tides:blush: but an 80km track! did you have to carry gas? my 7L tank only lasts 3 hours max and i don't like following either, my mate has a habit of roosting (as do i) but he also takes wierd lines that end up face-first down 3m drops:rolleyes: (plus rolling further down the hill) oh bikes rule . . . if i'm ever riding down south i'll be sure to pm you for a good track |

| 504730 | 2006-12-12 06:52:00 | but an 80km track! Heck no!! I would never get around it if it was . :p The longest one I've done was 60km and that was a bit too much . Sunday's was 46km but usually they are 30-35km with shorter and less challenging options (the "babies tracks" :p) available . I went around the main one once and the first babies track three times (15km x 3) so it was 80km+ all up . We top up the gas after doing each main round though it doesn't take a tank to get around them . The 35km tracks are the best as they only take an hour to do so you get to have a break and go around them three or four times, each time faster than the last . :D oh bikes rule . . . if i'm ever riding down south i'll be sure to pm you for a good track If you can, try and time it so that you can join one of the monthly organised trailrides . I can let you know when they will be on up to three months in advance . |
