505768 2006-12-12 03:44:00 Probably because the grandma would remind them of what happens to a lot of samoan kids in traditional families - they get the **** beaten out of them.

Could be right there, getting the **** beaten out of them didn't do a thing (I know, I saw the marks), grandma could make 'em shake in their boots though... more scared of her than God!

505769 2006-12-12 12:05:00 he rolled the car! (www.nzherald.co.nz)

"Despite earlier fears she might lose a leg, Ms Matagi is expected to make a full recovery, though she will be in hospital for a couple of months."

he nearly killed his girlfriend, and all he can say is he won't do it with passengers next time? firstly drunk driving with passengers on his restricted licence, secondly doing a runner from police, thirdly not realising that he could just as easily been killed as his girlfriend was hospitalised: how thick is this guy?

505770 2006-12-12 13:03:00 To me the should sentence him for attempted murder and whatever you call it when somebody plans a murder.

Throw him in a cell with murderers. Yea.:2cents:

505771 2006-12-12 19:14:00 Those are old interviews/statements. If you read the most recent posts and newspapers/TV interviews, you will see the guy in question has now done a turn-about and appears remorseful for his actions and states he will not do that again.

Who knows if he has actually learnt his lesson ...

505773 2006-12-12 19:49:00 I would like to think with the addtional pressure from his community after all this publicity and the pressure put on his parents, he might get some common sense knocked into him. But as I said, who knows.

It is a well known medical fact the male brain does not reach maturity until about 25 years old. This immaturity is reflected in the lack of common sense with decisions and the more likelihood they do risky things without thinking about consequences.

Only 25? 'S/He Who Must Be Obeyed' is so gonna get it

I saw the Campbell interview where the guy did the about-turn and I'd say it was grudging at best . It's all a bit moot, because nothing (probably not even Grandma) is going to stop him getting back in a car .
