721733 2008-11-20 21:43:00 my father owns a Compaq Presario F500, everything is fine but the wireless is not going properly.

I updated the Bios setting to the latest, wireless driver to the latest and it just won't work.

the wireless switch (located next to the audio jacks) comes with a light, and it is always orange instead of blue. to my understanding, it means the wireless card is off. but it seems to me that no matter what position the switch is in, the light is always orange.

the laptop runs on vista.

what is wrong? could it be that the laptop doesn't have a wireless card at all? or is there something else i can do to make it work?

thanks for your help in advanve. cheers.

Ring them and get them to fix it under warranty.

That should not matter, it can't be that old.
