722210 2008-11-23 09:33:00 Hey,

I'm wanting to buy a portable external harddrive, but not sure which one to go for .

I'm wanting one at least 100gb, and that can be compatible with mac and windows and can work transferring files between the two with ease .

I was looking at the maxtor mini, but I'm not sure if it can work between mac and windows . . . ?

any help would be appreciated,

Cheers

722211 2008-11-23 09:39:00 the external hard drives themselves are not OS specific, though you will need to pay attention to what you format it as if your wanting Mac to PC compatibility. FAT32 should do what your wanting if memory serves. kersonan (13264)

722214 2008-11-23 10:36:00 Dunno if you are interested, but Noel Leeming are selling Western Digital 160GB Elements external hard drives for $100- the one in Wellington city had about 20 left last I looked. I flagged it as I want the passport one- apparently they're a bit sturdier. I know ones you put together yourself are more to your spec, but this one is ready to rock... just sayin' Sick Puppy (6959)

Also just come across a 'freecom toughdrive', anyone familiar with these?
