| 507738 | 2006-12-20 01:12:00 | Thanks for your kind words and I'm astonished at how many local people know about the trip. I can honestly say that I had doubts about going on this building project and it turned out to be so much better than I'd ever have imagined. There are volunteer aid projects taking place all over the world and I'd encourage everybody to consider it at least once in life. Apart from helping people it is also a chance to see a country at local level rather than as a tourist. |

| 507741 | 2006-12-20 07:03:00 | And did the hammer fix the concrete blocks alright? :D Yes, that crossed my mind too. The wood must out of shot. Of course, I could be a "posed" shot :horrified |

| 507742 | 2006-12-20 08:58:00 | Ah yes, the hammer . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . well spotted . Interestingly the houses we built in India didn't use any timber at all . Concrete block walls and steel roof framing, with the roof fixed using posi-drive screws . But I did use my hammer - to bolster concrete blocks . Damned hard work, especially when we later learned a saw was available . :badpc: |
