507612 2006-12-18 07:37:00 I remember seeing screens of this kind of size for games like Street Fighter II in the UK, sit down consoles about 6-8 feet back from the screen!

Picture quality would be pretty crappy compared to screens nowadays, and as Billy T and a few others say, how is it gonna be used? How are you gonna resell it? I mean in your shoes I'd rather have the $5k you refer to... has he got a car? you'd probably get more for that... :p

As for prices on Trademe, not trying to be funny, but have you looked? Or you could ask Arcade distributors...

Of course I looked. Unfortunately there weren't any massive plasmas on there to compare with at all. I don't care what it goes for, I'll definitely get my money out of it. But he's not going to let me sell it for less than $5k, and I can't make him as court would cost too much. This is the guy I PM'd you about Billy. It's from an arcade machine, it says Tekken on the top.

507613 2006-12-18 20:37:00 second hand TVs fetch very little - I have generally given mine away - saves bother. This monster would perhaps fetch $200 if it is a LCD - my bet is it is a Plasma and we know that they rarely last over 3 years anyway.
I wouldn't touch it!

You could take him to the Disputes Tribunal.

507615 2006-12-18 22:27:00 I doubt if it's even a plasma. More likely to be some sort of rear projection. Antmannz (6583)
507616 2006-12-18 22:35:00 He's pulling your leg mate.......$15k for a TV?...LOL

A "few" years ago $15,000 was the price of the cheapest big screen sets.

There's no dispute - I even consulted Billy on that one. A debt collection company couldn't even help me as he ignored their threats and they couldn't add on costs, so were quite powerless.

I honestly have no idea what technology is inside the thing, all I know is that it's too thin to be a CRT.
