| 722343 | 2008-11-24 01:32:00 | OK here's the problem Turn on PC mother board power light comes on, CPU fan comes on, New power supply working fine but CD, HDD's will not power up spin nothing so i unplug ribbon's from all and they power on and CD responds ie, opens lights flash etc, so do you think it's the Motherboard or CPU or Memory screwd up? It all wen't dead when i was burning some data to a CD no warning no errors just all went off. I'm not a Techy :nerd: so asking me what the spec is is like asking me to translate a chinese menue into Italian :help: ........... all i know is that the CPU is a AMD and it's the same spec as a P4 and there is 2 gig of DDR ram. Should i just buy a new Motherboard and CPU or is there a miracle fix that I can do with a chissel and a Hammer :badpc: :thanks |

| 722351 | 2008-11-24 22:27:00 | Motherboard. So if the ram has been removed, the motherboard should beep, is that correct? And because it is not making beeps, this is what indicates it is a motherboard failure? I'm in the same situation. |

| 722352 | 2008-11-24 22:40:00 | correct even if u have a video card and no onboard video you can take out the video card and the mobo should beep 4 times to indicate no video card detected. No ram should beep, in some mobos even when theres no cu the board beeps. You will notice that the capacitors have a lump on the top of them. this indicates your board is slowly dieing till one eventually blows leaving a hole in the surface of capacitor. |
