722244 2008-11-23 13:03:00 Hi.
I am having a problem with my Hp Officejet 5400 on my network.
Every time it prints something it also prints a single page afterwards. Even when I try to print simple text from notepad.

This page has some large black and magenta "Z's" at the top.

I can not find anything about this in my printer settings. And the "separator page" option does not contain any file value. It is blank.

Does anyone know what this page is, and how to get rid of it?
Windows XP Pro by the way.

Thanks in advance

722245 2008-11-23 22:34:00 In the last month I have sent two of these printers back to hp for a refund.
The first would not register any magenta ink; they swapped it with a second identical model.
The second would not pick up any paper from the paper tray.
I opted for a full refund, as neither my client nor myself wanted to have anything more to do with this printer.

722246 2008-11-23 22:39:00 Have to agree with Rob here, they aren't nice printers. If you've completley reinstalled the drivers and software and it still does it, get a refund and buy a Canon. :) wratterus (105)

I can't remember, they weren't my printers (I hate HP printers) but several customers, also had some software issues with them, drivers causing issues with OneNote and Outlook 2007, all kinds of issues. Nasty things. :badpc:

Welcome to PressF1 btw mordi. :)

722250 2008-11-24 00:32:00 Huh. I've got one of them. Works brilliantly, never had an issue.
Have you got the right drivers installed?

722251 2008-11-24 09:25:00 I have the right drivers. And getting another model is not an option as this is the printer that my company uses. It is not my personal prniter.

It just seems like a strange error to have. My guess is it must be some setting somewhere that I can't identify.

But I totally agree. Those printers are horrible. I have had a lot of issues with them in the past. Including faulty ink cartridges and paper not being picked up :-)

If anyone has had this excact problem, and managed to solve it, please don't hesitate to post.
