| 721934 | 2008-11-22 04:34:00 | I regularly use CDs with my laptop to backup various items. I do it just the same as I did when using those good old floppies. In other words just copy the files over. But my desktop can use DVDs - much better. I can save much more. But I have to use Nero and burn the files. Is there any way I could just copy them over (I like to use Total Commander) ? Tom |

I followed your link speedy and read the stuff. I think I would be getting out of my depth. As there have been no other suggestions I am presuming that I am only able to use Nero to do what I want. Not a real problem to be honest so I will stick to what works. Thanks again for the suggestion. Tom |

Like Vista can out of the box Since XP cant copy to DVD natively (without this update) Yes I reckoned that was what it does. In fact being honest, it does what I was asking for. But I am a bit scared of changing something that works well. I may try later on but as I mentioned earlier using Nero isn't all that much of a problem for me. I was hoping some simple little freeware program would do it for me without going into MS stuff (which always worries me!). Your mention of Vista I noted. The little experience I have had (on other peoples computers) has really put me off. I am an XP lover and even run Win98 on my oldest computer - an ancient 486. Old fashioned and stuck in the mud Tom |
