| 721833 | 2008-11-21 11:02:00 | Hi guys, I wondered if anyone has any ideas about how to get connected to broadband when Telecom keeps sending a generic response. We live in on the coast of Taranaki (not THAT rural!), and basically everyone in our town is connected to broadband, including our neighbors who live about 100m up the road. For us, however, we consistently get the same response from Telecom saying that we are barely too far away from the exchange and they're not willing to attempt a connection. Our neighbors' connections are fast and reliable, and the idea that a line can lose that amount of attenuation in 100m is hard to imagine. Has anyone who's been in a similar situation had any success with Teleocm? This is turning into a really frustrating and stressful situation, and dialup just isn't cutting it! Thanks so much in advanced for any help. Cheers, William |

| 721838 | 2008-11-21 11:26:00 | You will need: Two dog food tins - empty A few metres of coaxial cable And some N Connectors from DSE (search.dse.co.nz) Also the fitting to go onto the aerial fittings of the access points, you could also use a PCI wireless card at your end. Trees are the biggest interference. How to make a cantenna: www.turnpoint.net |
