723056 2008-11-26 04:56:00 Having recently switched from Telecom to Orcon as my phone provider (Orcon have been my ISP for years), I have found myself with a poor to non-existent phone service since the switch over 2 weeks ago. In my daily conversation with Orcon - I always have to call them to get updates they assure me that I have a high priority ticket, techie has been and thought he'd fixed it, case is moved to head engineer bla bla bla but no improvement. I can't call out, calls in are almost impossible to hear due to the earthing background noise.

Now the issue is quite possibly with Telecom's equipment and this may be their way of punishing my unfaithfulness to them. If it is not Orcon's 'fault', however, I am somewhat dismayed that they haven't fixed it after 2 weeks, regardless of excuses.

Has anyone else had issues like this? I hope this is an isolated case or I'd think twice about changing your phone provider to Orcon - not that I have any warm feelings for Telecom's business model - "screw the punters till they have another choice".

723057 2008-11-26 06:32:00 Bump it up to the Customer Service Manager.
Make them LOG everything in your notes every time you call.

See how you get on then, and post back in a couple of days, and if no joy by then I'll tell you who to talk to next. Specifically.

723058 2008-11-26 09:45:00 I think they have been logging pretty good, judging by the time it takes them to read up on my file each time, heh heh, but yeah, I'll try moving up the food chain. Thanks for the suggestion pctek, I'll post in a couple of days. digikiwi (10681)
723059 2008-11-27 05:09:00 Still no improvement, and the customer service manager was 'unavailable'. However I did speak to a team leader who promised to email the log notes thus far to me, which I'll be posting here.

My current advice: Steer well clear of Dorcon as a phone provider until they get their act together.

723060 2008-11-27 05:17:00 Is your Homeline on Orcon LLU or still a Telecom sourced fone?? If you broadband is OK then it may be the fone connection at you exchange causing the noise. paulw (1826)
