| 722905 | 2008-11-25 11:23:00 | Hi Guys Whilst helping other members with their HJT Logs I was amazed by the amount of Cool Web Search crap on their computers. What is Cool Web Search? It is basically a company that makes a living outta installing it's rubbish on your computer. Read about them HERE (en.wikipedia.org). If you are one of those members who have used CWShredder in the past, I've got bad news for you. CWShredder's Programmer has finally surrended. Read about it HERE (www.theregister.co.uk). Only thing to do is the normal things, like install/update/scan antivirus, install/update/scan antispyware. Be careful of what yah download and be scared, be very scared. BURNZEE |

| 722907 | 2008-11-25 19:34:00 | Hi Exactly. Can CWShedder still be trusted to remove CWS crap? CWShredder is now owned by Trend Micro and the latest version I could find is V 2.19. This version is three years old. Read about it HERE (en.wikipedia.org). Try running an outdated version of your antivirus and see how effective it is. Does anybody know of another program, (updated), that can get rid of CWS as good as CWShredder use to. There is nothing Cool about Cool Web Search. It's your computer, it's your choice. BURNZEE |

Malwarebytes has the About Buster, which As described here (www.malwarebytes.org) can be downloaded, its not the same as Malwarebytes, but I think MB does look for CWS anyway, the other it is a separate application As shown here (www.imagef1.net.nz) |
