Selling for $999 at Newbolds.

I have a Bravia 32" LCD as my main TV - want this one for the bedroom - not sure how it compares?

722711 2008-11-24 23:17:00 Won't be quite as good, the Sony has a better picture but for $999 new, thats pretty good, fine for the bedroom.

Friends of mine recently got a 40" Sony V series off trademe for $1000, maybe you could have a look on trademe for a good deal on a 2nd hand Sony?

A quick browse on TM shows plenty of brand new Sony S, U and V series TVs going for $1000, or 2nd hand ones for $600 - $1000.

722712 2008-11-24 23:20:00 It's not to bad, but it won't play 1080p full hd as the resolution (1336x768) isn't big enough. However it doesn't really matter at the moment as most hd footage is ok for that tv. It should be ok for the bedroom. davidmmac (4619)
722713 2008-11-25 00:15:00 DSE are doing the top model Toshiba 32" C3500 for $829 if you are interested.
I have one and it is a great TV.

722715 2008-11-25 20:36:00 Sony and Samsung panels come from the same factory (they have a joint venture together) but I think I prefer the Sony firmware slightly better. Colours are brigher (due to a different backlight I think) and motion is slightly better (motionview). utopian201 (6245)
722716 2008-11-26 06:27:00 Me too-but in the recent consumer mag the Samsung 32" was slightly better than the Sony 32" in terms of image and sound quality;) Blam (54)

722718 2008-11-26 09:16:00 Looks bad to me.
I paid $900 for a better model on a deal from H/N.
