722527 2008-11-24 09:13:00 I have a PC which has no BIOS option to boot from CD

I need some kind of floppy that will allow CDs to be booted (other than smart boot manager) which just hangs when I tell it to load the CD

722529 2008-11-24 19:22:00 Have you checked to see if there's a later BIOS update?

Or just get a bootable flash drive, (does it have an option for this)? Then get one of the files off bootdisk.com

Extract one of them to it

If the BIOS doesn't have an option to boot from CD then it will not have the option to boot from a flash drive.

Smart boot manager is the one that doesn't work

the 2nd link looks interesting but do any allow booting from CD?

it has the latest update (which is from 1996) :D

No way it's booting from flash, it doesn't even have USB...

722533 2008-11-25 01:13:00 I know about those but they're useless, I need something that will boot *any* cd which is in the drive, no matter what it is, as long as it's bootable.

Smart boot manager seemed like the sensible choice but it tries to boot the CD, all that happens is the drive spins up, doesn't read the disk, and the PC locks up.

722536 2008-11-25 05:14:00 Would a Win 98 boot disk be what you are after? I picked one up from my local recycling centre last week along with a PCI network card fro $3 gary67 (56)
