508423 2006-12-21 05:30:00 Another cringe time...

http://www.tv3.co.nz/

The new look TV3 website goes from one extreme to another (first it was black & white & high cpu load & now its blue & white & its waayy to busy…)

508425 2006-12-21 06:09:00 Ouch! I agree with you Stu, it's a bit of a mess. I liked the old design, other than it's excessive need for CPU power. They would have been better to spend their money redeveloping that in my opinion. Oh, and of course, my usual issue of videos only being in WMV format. ;) maccrazy (6741)
508426 2006-12-21 06:26:00 Works OK in Opera 9.1. Bit cluttered but works OK.. paulw (1826)

What's the deal with the likes of TVNZ, Herald and now TV3 having WMV only format anyway?:groan:

wmv is not the most stbale format, but as opposed to quicktime, its more friendly on dial up users and has a decent amount of quality.

however, i do like the new website, blue and white is much better than DEAD black. being graphic designer and specializing in web design, i quite like it. agree'd that is VERY busy, but then again, its something that tends to be un-avoidable with the amount of info they have to offer.

508430 2006-12-21 09:12:00 Thanks for the explanation Jams. I prefer QT myself although I have only ever watched it via broadband at work and have never attempted to watch streaming QT on Windows via 56K (pointless really) at home. I would have thought though that with the progress of broadband penetration it would be more beneficial do aim for streaming QT in the long run since it is the higher quality standard for the web.

Edit: I guess that is what we get for being so slow on the uptake of broadband in this country thanks to our overpriced data capped slow lines.

508431 2006-12-21 19:24:00 I have to say that I prefer it over the old black TV3 design any day. somebody (208)
