| 508846 | 2006-12-23 23:27:00 | Probably being a bit unfair on Local Govt. etc as rubbish needs to be picked up, water needs to be provided and sewerage, roads, libraries, swimming pools etc and most of those things are too costly for private enterprise to provide and make them affordable for ordinary folk. But I think I know where you're coming from as abuse can sneak in where it's the public purse thats involved. I have no real problem with highly paid sports stars, as, if people didn't want to, then they wouldn't pay them:horrified . There was an 18th century French Philosophy that maintained that the only true workers were peasants and everyone else were parasites. I kinda like that, being a rural person...:lol: |
