508096 2006-12-20 07:00:00 Well from what I remember of my 56k modem, I'd take my slow Xtra broadband connection anyday (although I do pay more for the privilege).

Mind you, I haven't tried love over the internet. Now where are THOSE chatrooms :xmouth:

508097 2006-12-20 09:42:00 I think its bollocks. How fast can you type?
You think you might fancy someone and you dump them because your email or chat message didn't arrive fast enough?

Some of us are living in 2006 where websites have wonderful things like GRAPHICS and VIDEOS. Wow!

508098 2006-12-20 11:35:00 Well I knew it didn't have to do with the other otherwise Durex would not have decided to test their latest within New Zealand. mikebartnz (21)
508099 2006-12-20 11:42:00 I know we love to bash Telecom but doesn't it strike anybody else that this story is full of so much hot air it could lift a balloon?

His clients are loosing millions because of Telecom? I don't think so Tim ....

Sounds like a non-IT guy who has been spun a line by his tech guys about why the bloody sites are so slow no one uses them.
While I do agree with you about the losses what realy annoys me on dialup is how so many web sites can't give you anything to read untill the whole page has loaded. It's a bit like watching paint dry sometimes. (most times)

But Mike, everyone uses broadband these days don't they :D

Wait till you are forced to get application services over the internet. You may as well go out and paint the house while it downloads.

Sometimes I will turn off graphics and then see how useful websites are. I sometimes use Lyxn for a laugh... of course most people won't know what that is...

I remember a good few years ago a web site where from the home page you could choose text or graphic and the text version was so incredibly fast in comparison.
