2008-11-25 07:31:00 | My fiddling' has got me into trouble again! :( I was having problems with Outlook 2002 (part of Office XP). I couldn't any longer use DLs, in trying to 'fix' it I deleted my mail account, and of course when I trying to reinstall - it wouldn't work. I next reinstalled my Xtra broadband a/c using the Xtra cd. Then when I tried to send an email I got the message: 'An OLE registration error occurred...' Would you help me out here please??? Both to get my a/c working again, and possible fixes for the DL problem. TIA - as always. :)

2008-11-25 09:49:00 | Does it show the same error for the Distribution Lists? Or something else?

2008-11-25 18:25:00 | 'An unexpected error occurred' :( I can see the message to individual people, but not as past of a Distribution List.

2008-11-26 05:47:00 | As part of Distribution List - obviously (or not, perhaps). 'Anunexpected error occurred'. This is what shows up when I try to send from a Distribution List. I CAN send to the individuals, but is a nuisance when sending a newsletter to 30 odd people. Any ideas???

2008-11-26 06:34:00 | Thanks for that . No luck with the first site suggestions, and I'm not signed up to get the other one . More curious is the fact that the DL I have set up for my family is the one I have problems with (not too many to put in manually!) . The Club one I use for newsletters is working ok (at the moment) . :clap Soooo I still don't know what the prob is! :(

2008-11-26 07:00:00 | Here you go R.M. - From Beeswax second link - I have been signed up to Experts exchange for mummmblleeeeee years :) -- the suggested answer 1. This problem would occur if there is a duplicate of the Group name. Rename one of the group names and test again. 2. The problem could also be caused by a corrupt file in Outlook or a program interfering with Outlook. Reset the Outlook toolbar template. With Outlook close, do a search for and rename outcmd.dat file. Restart Outlook and a fresh outcmd.dat file will be recreated. 3. Register an important Outlook file. Go to Start > Run and type regsvr32 OLE32.DLL Do the same for INETCOMM.DLL 4. Disable Outlook Addins. Go to Tools > Options > Other > Advanced Options > Addin Manager or COMM/Addins and disable the addins. 5. Start Outlook in Safe Mode. Go to Start > Run and type "c:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office\Outlook.exe" /safe Your path to Outlook.exe may be a little different. 6. Create a new Outlook profile. www.outlook-tips.net 7. Repair Outlook. With Outlook open, go to Help > Detect and Repair. 8. If no joy, reinstall Outlook. Go to Add/Remove Programs and highlight Microsoft Office. Click on Install/Uninstall. A menu will pop allowing you to choose repair or reinstall. support.microsoft.com

2008-11-26 07:18:00 | Thanks Wainui . I'll work my way through that lot . I'm copying a 'lot' of photos from a HDD to a new external drive in the background, so I won't do anything too adventurous until that is finished (probably not until tomorrow!) . Will report back though . :)
