508304 2006-12-20 22:13:00 Hey, I just joined Xnet yesterday, still days to wait for it though to be active.

I did a line check on their site and came up with 2-4Mbit. I have punched in other phone numbers to see the strength, CBD gets a >4Mbit and so does some other areas incl like Porirua ... :illogical

For you guys, how does the tester for you. Is it accurate? Let's avoid unlimited plans and if one wishes try to use domestic traffic instead. Thanks.

Its a theory.
UBS (Unbundled Bitstream Service) is available in the exchange area servicing the premesis for the line number requested
The estimated downstream linerate for this query is >4Mbit/s

My router reports 8000 and my actual speed is 600k.

Nope, as when a telcome main came around to install ADSL at our house a few years ago he said that we could get 8Mbit/s

Umm . . yeah :D I wanted to see how accurate it is without traffic shaping . But the word is the test is theory, hope it is, b/c my line is just 2-4Mbit .

It won't accept a US area code like 1-951-654-xxxx

I tried though.......

Router connects @ 7616/160 yet I consistently max out at 2.2Mbps - I blame Ihug as I'm pretty sure I'm only a couple hundred meters from the exchange...

Does not compute. :badpc:
