1432889 2017-03-16 03:37:00 Hi All.
Toshiba laptop & W10.

I have lost the Music Icon from the desktop screen. I have been doing some cleaning out & merging Icons. I have checked each icon on screen to see if I have moved to somewhere else. No.
I tied "Search" bottom left in toolbar & it shows 3 musics All with ITunes Icon Not in any of those.

What else can I do? Some of it I have still got on discs. Bought & borrowed. I cannot get this comp to download any of these discs bac into another Music

When I got this Toshiba I backed up onto a WD 1tb portable drive. I have looked in it Cannot figure it out. I am getting worse at understanding instructions.
Is there a magic word I don't know about. Thanks. PJ.

1432891 2017-03-17 23:07:00 You might have to be more specific, like was it a shortcut that led to your music folder.
Or did it lead somewhere else.

1432893 2017-03-18 06:55:00 Then you need to go to whatever app or folder it would have opened & create a new shortcut on the desktop. Driftwood (5551)

1432895 2017-03-19 05:05:00 Try searching for:

*.mp3

if you find a lot of them all in one folder then that's probably the one you are looking for.

1432896 2017-03-19 22:33:00 :crying:cryingI Have found some in Media Player Playlist, thankfully, but all the Icons that go with the music are not there. I am resigned to having "Lost" a great deal of my collection. Most bitterly my Pink Floyd stuff. I am bereft, woe is me. . PJ.:crying:crying Poppa John (284)
1432897 2017-03-19 22:53:00 Could you do a search for say "Pink Floyd" of "Just another hole in the wall" or whatever? Bryan (147)
1432898 2017-03-19 22:54:00 erm - that's brick

Do the songs listed in media player actually play?

If they do, find out where they are located (the songs are not located in the media player playlist, that just points to where they are...)
