1432705 2017-03-11 05:05:00 Family member has a Galaxy Tab S (The SM-T700). It was rooted, but it got formatted (I think from TWRP). It looks like the bootloader also got formatted, and it seemingly has lost root access.

I can boot it manually into TWRP, but nothing else. I've tried to flash the stock ROM back, but TWRP keeps giving an error and refusing to flash.

Where am I best to go from here? I had a chat to the owner and it doesn't need to be rooted or anything, they'd just like it working again.

1432706 2017-03-11 06:42:00 From the limited experience I've with Android tablets, you may need to get it to boot from the rom. Driftwood (5551)

1432708 2017-03-11 07:46:00 Odin is currently a no go, as the tablet isn't recognized by odin. Will only boot into TWRP. Nick G (16709)

1432710 2017-03-12 00:20:00 Again, won't recognise the device, it will only boot to TWRP.

I've had a look at ADB sideload, but have never used it so a bit unsure where to go with that.

I'm quite confused as to why TWRP refuses to flash a ROM to the tab, unless it has something to do with it also complaining about lack of root access.

1432711 2017-03-12 03:28:00 I'm not familiar with your device, my limited experience has been with earlier Android devices.
If none of those suggestions are any help, you could google your problem & see what comes up on the Android forums.

1432712 2017-03-12 21:21:00 If you can't get into recovery mode you could try a usb jig and you can get into odin = www.trademe.co.nz

Have you also tried to flash another rom in twrp

1432713 2017-03-14 01:32:00 Yes, have tried to flash several roms. Will look into a usb jig :) Nick G (16709)
1432714 2017-03-28 01:12:00 In case anyone finds this helpful in the future - the solution was actually ridiculously easy.

While the stock ROM would not flash, AOSP did. From there, ODIN will recognize the tab, and you can just chuck stock back via odin.
