1433072 2017-03-21 22:17:00 What you choose to overlook is that when the average man in the street installed Windows 10 he didn’t expected to have to do continuous maintenance and repairs, something the majority are incapable of.

How is that different from Win95,98,xp,vista,Win7 ?
The Av man in the street doesnt actually have issues with 10 & continuous maintainace & repairs . Its when they start fiddling & installing crapware....
Go back to 95/98 & see just how many had reliability issues (often self inflicted)
Vista (pre SP1) , now that was one heap of poop. Not so bad after the Sp's , but then too late, credibility was gone.

Lets face it, the whole launch of Windows 10 is nothing short of a Dogs Breakfast.

Not quite that bad, however
They way MS scammed (yes scammed) so many into upgrading to 10 is inexcusable
MS used one of the same scamming methods that malware & viruses use : clicking on the x in the corner of popup box was coded to actually run the install/upgrade
That alone shows the mindset of those running things at the time .

That basically sums it up nicely :)

The majority of problems with W10 are NOT the actual OS but all the crap / malware that's been installed by the owners. Over the last 6-8 months, the majority of my work when dealing with W10 problems has been just as above. People ( Like BM) complain about how bad it is, yet when investigating the problems you locate the actual cause.

Every OS has always had updates, Windows, Linux, iOS, Android, there ISNT ONE that doesn't have a problem with someone.

Dragging up old posts to previous problems simply to rant again is laughable.

BM-- Yes I have written a lot on how to stop certain things, BUT the majority of people are simply to lazy or don't want to do tasks. Even Basic ones like cleaning out the temp files using something like Ccleaner. Do you know how many times I've put in ccleaner, given instructions on how to run it, and then go back to the person sometimes years later and they have not done anything ?? I'll tell you, Hundreds of times.

Modern computers make people lazy and unable to think for themselves. They want everything done for them, that's why there's service companies.

Well heres some advise: The next Version of W10 is due out VERY soon -- So get your rants, complaints and moans ready - Not that anyone really gives a toss as to your moans --- Its like a stuck record, same old moans over and over and over again ---- boringggggggg.

There is no conclusion to it. Enough is enough!

You take me back to the late 1930's and Vinyl Records, us kids used to have the job of winding up the old gramophone, but not allowed to nudge the stylus over.

Learn't to dance to b l o o d y good music on those vinyl records.

No W10 back then, just good old electric adding and accounting machines, not many call-outs with those either, no need for gaming, just good honest work ethics.

You mean you'd like the debate closed because you're loosing.

Ever heard of not reading the thread if you find it offensive?

Well how do you explain how I’ve had every OS since DOS 3.1 and have never had the trouble with any of them that I’ve had with Windows 10. My house keeping hasn’t changed and blaming other programmes is just a cop-out.

However, I’m told some people enjoy pain, and if they want to join the “Moronic Microsoft Masochists” that is entirely up to them, just count me out. :)

1433078 2017-03-22 01:38:00 My :2cents:..Wainui puts a HEAP of his own time and expertise in around here and helps an awful lot of people out for nothing in return - there's not a lot of places someone can go and get the quality advice that is normally given around here, and the way that (for example) BM is going on is just stupid. PF1 would be a far worse place without Wainui, and I'd suggest that if things keep going the way they are going that could well happen. IMO BM should zip it. There is just no pleasing some people.

Just to put the record straight, in them thar days it was shellack, vinyl didn't come in until the 1950s, there were acetate records before the war. :nerd:

1433080 2017-03-22 01:50:00 Well said wratterus and others. I, too, am heartily sick of the boorish posts from BM. No idea what he wants us to do to help him make peace with the world.

Pf1 is heading for troubles if this unpleasantness continues.

1433081 2017-03-22 01:50:00 Thank you Wratterus. (edited) and others - I'm nought special

I just like to help, keeps the mind working but yes its tiresome when the same old moans are heard every time there's a problem.

The rantings of one person in particular IS having a negative effect on this forum. I've had people look me up and call or email me asking for help - of course if its within my work area its a job, sometimes its a quick fix so I log in remotely or advise over the phone, and the ONLY reason a couple have said they called me is because they knew if they posted their problem here on PF1 exactly what would happen (don't need to be a rocket scientist to figure that one out) ;)

NOW if the damn suppliers in Auckland would answer the phone or emails I may be able to get some work done.
