1433367 2017-03-27 07:14:00 In Fat Dog64 I downloaded "wine.2.0.SFS" which is sitting happily waiting for action.
Question is, how do I install Wine?

1433368 2017-03-27 19:03:00 You need the 32bit compatibility layer if you don't already have it.

You boot up Wine by adding it to the SFS loader.

Do you really need Wine?

1433369 2017-03-27 21:01:00 I don't need Wine, just want to find out what it can do. I had Wine on Puppy and it ran my brilliant old word processor, "Word Express" which originally came on 3 floppies. Also ran the brilliant Kiwi program "Mail Washer". I will investigate the 32bit compatibility layer. mzee (3324)
1433370 2017-03-27 22:54:00 Both the wine & 32bit layer are added to the loader "successfully" but nothing happens. I can't find any link in the menu for Wine.
Maybe I need an earlier version of Wine?

1433371 2017-03-28 16:29:00 I'll have to leave it in your hands as I have not ran puppy/fatdog in a long time but you did what I would have done.

I wouldn't think that version would pose a problem considering its in the repository. Maybe try the earlier one?

1433372 2017-03-29 10:55:00 Made desktop shortcuts to the wine files, installed 'Word Express' which runs fine except the shortcut doesn't work, only opens from the wine file manager. The path seems to be correct.
Have now installed 'VirtualBox', no problems except that when using the wizard to install the 'guest', on page 2 setting the RAM allocation the <NEXT> key is disabled, and can proceed no further. Can't get any sense from 'Oracle'.
