| 1432886 | 2017-03-15 23:09:00 | "Compacting messages" in OE is not like defrag at all - it's simply removing the deleted items from the database. When you delete emails, and even when "emptying" the deleted items, the emails are not actually deleted - they are just no longer shown.When the "compacting" is done, that's when they actually get deleted, and the space is reclaimed in the database |

Really shouldnt be using OE anymore |

Really shouldnt be using OE anymore Thanks bevy121 and 1101. It is OE. Every month or two it asks for permission to "save space by compacting messages". I let it do it, and it does also provide a back up of all the mailboxes in the Recycle Bin, in case things go bad. My Inbox is never near 2GB, more like 0.2GB. OE just works, there seems to be no reason to ditch it. Touch wood. |
