| 1432880 | 2017-03-15 17:02:00 | Hi, I recently had a problem with my applications (random force closing, can't save work, can't export audio) and someone suggested a clean boot. After doing a clean boot I can no longer sign into Windows 10, there is no log in option - the time goes up, the screen dims, but no way to log in, and the network is disabled. I've tried to boot in safe mode via shift-restart, but it doesn't work. Any suggestions? I'm using an HP, x64, with non-standard hardware and Windows 10 OS. Many thanks. |

To do this, press the power button to start, as soon as the OS starts to load, press and hold in the power button to force it to shut down, do this two times, on the third time it should pop up with a message saying please wait - and tries to fix the problem, it wont - then gives the recovery options. Select Troubleshoot > Advanced options > Startup Settings > Restart. you'll then be given the option to select safe mode. Or you can run system restore back to before it was altered. |
