| 1432127 | 2017-02-22 21:51:00 | The merger between Vodafone and sky cant go ahead. And the Sky shares have dropped wiping $300 million off the value of the pay-TV firm competition-watchdog-rejects-sky-tv-vodafone-nz-merger (www.stuff.co.nz) As someone wrote in the comments "the sky is falling " |

Even ~normal~ free TV viewership is in decline internationally. Add to that, new NZ regulations that require safety scaffolding before installers climb on the roof & install the Sat dish/arial . |

Friend had her roof replaced recently. Roofer lost his balance, put his hand out to the rail, the rail let go and he just saved himself by grabbing the spouting as he went over. Later they checked, railings not placed correctly - as in position, never mind the loose one. One of the feet on ground, was placed on top of a piece of firewood and was therefore not holding anything, just wobbling around. Roofers were not impressed. So much for health and safety huh. |

But seemingly OK to drive from site to site in vans with zero frontal crash protection Vans so flimsy, the employers know they arnt safe , staff having made that very clear . Having been somehow allowed into NZ despite not meeting NZ crash safety standards onsite : extreme H&S rules driving to the site : no such rules double standards |

When I was working in the US in the mid 90s I notice not one Japanese flat fronted van there only US made vans with a short hood. I asked and found out that they didn't pass the US crash test safety standards. |

I agree with your tongue in cheek comment. The cultures of both Sky TV and Vodafone are ones of greed and corporate rape and pillage. They all deserve the other. And pleasing to know we have a watchdog with some teeth ... :clap |

| 1432136 | 2017-02-23 21:40:00 | That's good news. Because as the Com Com said if it went ahead then they could pitch their offerings (with Sport AB's) to people with other ISPs and have an unfair advantage. Some people are upset - probably Vodafone users. (or Shareholders) Sky really have their head in the sand. Everyone want to pick their own channels not have them forced down their neck. |
