2008-11-27 20:58:00 | Hey i was wondering is there something special you need to do to a Win XP Home compter to access it over a network from a XP Pro? | nedkelly (9059) | |
2008-11-27 21:06:00 | Do you mean shared folders ? If so make sure the folders are actually shared, best if both PC's are on the same workgroup, and any firewalls on either PC's are set to allow the complete range of IP addresses through.

2008-11-27 21:11:00 | Yeah both pcs are on the same workgroup but when i try to access the windows Xp home one it comes up saying access is denied before i can see what is shared | nedkelly (9059) | |
2008-11-27 21:20:00 | Have you created and shared a folder? If you haven't, create a folder | Speedy Gonzales (78) | |
2008-11-27 21:24:00 | yeah i have i just tried to connect by mapping a network drive and it worked for my flash drive but the dvd drive said not enough server storage is available to proccess this command. | nedkelly (9059) | |
2008-11-27 21:27:00 | So, youre trying to share a burner?? File sharing probably doesnt work, with a burner / DVD. Buy one instead

2008-11-27 21:37:00 | Whats that got to do with this topic?? Whats on this DVD in the other topic?? Is it a DVD with pics? A recording (video) with titles or something? What program did he use, to burn whatever to it?? Is it a DVDR + / - or DVD-RW??
Speedy Gonzales (78) | ||
2008-11-27 21:43:00 | The dvd is a dvd-RW and the person who burnt it for me has gone to aus for a holiday so i cant ask him what he used to burn it. It has some programs on it. And the pc i am trying to connect to is the one that i was talking about in the other topic, the only one that can read the dvd . | nedkelly (9059) | |
2008-11-27 21:46:00 | Thats probably why, its a RW. Its always better to use DVDR+ or - I take it, the one that cant read it, has a dvd in it, not a normal cd / burner (which wont read DVD)
