510980 2006-12-30 04:45:00 I don't know whether you have noted the other thread which seems to have a "mines faster than yours" theme. Well mine is "mines slower than yours".

I have a Linux server which is a...

Pentium I 166MHz

64MB RAM

2x 4.3GB SCSI hard drives
1x 4.3GB IDE hard drive

I think the CD ROM is b*****ed

Ipex tower case (generic)

Mandrake 8.1 or 8.2 (probably not the oldest in regular use distro on PressF1)

P75
32MB RAM
700MB HDD
PCMCIA Network Card
Enabled on DSL
Running Windows 95

Principally used as an interface to technical instruments, but does WP (Word 6) and other functions as well. Definitely in regular use.

Then there is "Old Faithful"

"White box' P166
256MB RAM
C: 20GB
D:/E: 6GB
24X CD ROM
Windows 98 Original (on original installation as well)
Currently print server and used for some older programs W2K doesn't like.

costed nearly $3000
my only computer with Pentium CPU (all other AMDs) and an Asus motherboard
...the rest of my comp got random brand mobos..ha

it started it's life running win95 then 98se
wasn't used until i installed win2000 on it and ran some servers
and then it was retired again after 1yr

interesting part was..booting win2000 takes 10min
