| 509895 | 2006-12-27 02:52:00 | I haven't done one for a while, but it's a nice traditional custom, so I'm willing to try one this year. The trick I think -- for me at least -- is to choose something that's achievable, but not so easy as to be no achievement at all. I'm pretty thin-skinned; I often brood for days if I think someone has been taking the piss out of me, and sometimes I snap at people who have made a "smart" remark, but this is hypocritical as I like to tease people and have them on, and in my case it's always good natured (I don't bother with people I hate). So my resolution is this: If someone says something to me that could be regarded as mockery or ridicule, I'm going to look at it in the best possible light and not worry about what the motivation might be. I'm going to learn to "take it" as well as I "dish it out". What's your resolution going to be? |
