510339 2007-01-02 11:02:00 I have to say that I am truly amazed at the amount of people on this forum who are really unimpressed with Vista. After nearly 6 years, countless thousands of progamming hours and many many Billions of dollars invested into it and nobody even wants to touch it. To say the least that is really shocking. Just goes to show what happens when you can't ditch the support for the legacy code in Windows, your damned if you do and damned if you don't. winmacguy (3367)
510340 2007-01-02 11:08:00 I wouldn't touch anything with the Apple brand on it either.

In fact between Vista, Apple and Linux I might as well flag the lot and go read a book.

I guess 80% of the world's computing population will be sticking with Windows XP for 2007 then.....
That might flatten the MS revenue stream a bit.

510344 2007-01-03 07:09:00 I would presume so also

Can anybody give me some reasons why they _WOULD_ upgrade?
So far we have DX10 (What really requires DX10 thou? 3 games so far?)
I cant think of any other reasons...

510345 2007-01-03 07:18:00 So DX10 wont run on XP? pine-o-cleen (2955)

Not wanting to re hash stuff that I have already mentioned in previous posts I will just say that there is NO reason to upgrade to Vista for this year at least. Either stick with WinXP SP4 (essential for gaming) if it currently fills your computing needs or cross over to Linux or Tiger if it doesn't.

510347 2007-01-03 08:59:00 Geez, the Gutman article has made me think carefully. Pretty disgusted, actually.

But a question for the XP, Mac, Linux advocates. How is it that "Premium Content" will be made available for these platforms if they don't also have the layers of protection being postulated for Vista?

510348 2007-01-03 09:04:00 "Premium content" is a load of arse. I for one won't be purchasing anything that has "premium content". pine-o-cleen (2955)
