I am going to iggy it and agree with you almost all the way . . . But . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . How in the world could anyone in NZ, upon walking up to a conversation, hear how the words were spelled? OK . . I will allow that they should be speaking in logical and acceptable-as-norm idioms and syntax . . . but come on! So . . . I give you the point up to a point . Forgetting the NZ accent and short-circuiting words to their lowest common denominator in conversation is all witty and cute . . but how in the world could anyone actually hear if the people in the conversation weren't just really textmessagers (txtmsgrs) with broken thumbs or dead batteries in their cellphones (clfon) struggling with the spoken word? Don't EVEN get me started on pronounciation! Lt meno if Im rong . <actually, I read each and every post or reply you make . . . it's all good> |

| 509929 | 2006-12-29 17:55:00 | I'm pretty thin-skinned; I often brood for days if I think someone has been taking the piss out of me, and sometimes I snap at people who have made a "smart" remark, but this is hypocritical as I like to tease people and have them on, and in my case it's always good natured (I don't bother with people I hate) . So my resolution is this: If someone says something to me that could be regarded as mockery or ridicule, I'm going to look at it in the best possible light and not worry about what the motivation might be . I'm going to learn to "take it" as well as I "dish it out" . What a wimp ! Get over it . Get a life ! |

Well I emailed one of the newspaper reporters (who did ask for feedback on his article) to point out he had used the word "concerning" incorrectly. He wrote something along the lines of "schools find this siuation concerning". Grrrrr. |

Eh?... don't drag ME into this SurferJoe. I am, and have always been, a model of decorum and correct spelling/pronounciation/elocution/denomination... well- at least in my own mind. As far as the real world goes, it's a non-issue as my world's much better. Thanks for calling me witty and cute tho, good to laugh 1st thing in the morning :D :thumbs: |
