723716 2008-11-27 18:20:00 I'm using Windows XP. When I want to send photos by email, I go to the picture file, hilight the photo I want to send, and under File and Folder Tasks, click "E-mail this file" and "Make all my pictures smaller". When I do this, the computer not only prepares the email I want, but also generates a second email which gets sent to my inbox. Is there a box or tag somewhere that I can tick or untick to stop this second email being generated? nzguru (8828)

Theres tons of free picture editors out there.

723718 2008-11-27 21:03:00 Are you sure its going to your own inbox, and not the Sent items? There is an option to disable "to sent items" ??

What email program are you using , outlook Express, Outlook or something else ?

723719 2008-11-27 23:25:00 Hi, wainuitech. I'm using Outlook. There are definitely two emails generated. When I click the tab "Email this file", two boxes appear. One, headed "Send Pictures via Email", the one I want with the "Make my pictures smaller" option, generates and email which is placed in the Outbox, as I want. But at the same time, instantaneously in the background and greyed out, a second box headed "Send Email" opens up, and sends an email to my Inbox. nzguru (8828)
723720 2008-11-27 23:43:00 Don't worry. Forget it. I've just realized what I'm doing wrong. Cheers. nzguru (8828)
723721 2008-11-27 23:51:00 What version of Outlook ar e you using - I just tried the way mentioned and some of teh wording is not there. In Outlook 2003.

Went to a picture - File >Send to>Mail Recipient>Send pictures as Email ( select make smaller) Click OK and new mail opens with attachment ready to put the receivers address.

There is a temp box behind the box that allows you to resize, but thats only creating the mail, and disappears when the mail opens.

OK I did manage to duplicate the problem as you described, one turning up in your own Email's in box.--- When you have the mail ready to send check in the options as shown in This example (www.imagef1.net.nz) - someplace should be an option button, check to make sure the Save a Sent Message is not saying Inbox, here is Default settings (www.imagef1.net.nz), you can also try unticking that box and see what happens.

723722 2008-11-28 03:32:00 I'm using Outlook 2003. Either my way (clicking "e-mail this file" under File and Folder Tasks) or your way (File >Send to>Mail Recipient>Send pictures as Email) opens an email with the file(s) that have been selected. What I've been doing then, after completing and addressing the email, is closing and saving it, and then opening Outlook. If instead I click send on the email and then open Outlook, it immediately starts sending it. Hope that makes sense. Cheers, wainuitech, thanks for taking the trouble to answer my little problem. nzguru nzguru (8828)
723723 2008-11-28 03:37:00 And there's no second copy in the inbox. nzguru nzguru (8828)
723724 2008-11-28 05:38:00 Ah Ha ! -- thanks for returning and explaining, not for your or my sake, but if any one else has the problem and does a search it may help them as well. wainuitech (129)
