| 724514 | 2008-12-01 02:42:00 | Does anybody know if S3 video cards are available from NZ retailers? And if so, is it worth getting one over an nVidia or ATi? | sammo450 (13626) | ||

| 724518 | 2008-12-03 08:59:00 | I used to have a few of their PCI cards back in the day, the S3 Trio I believe... back when I ran 6x monitors at 800x600 off a Pentium 60MHz, coz the monitors couldnt do any higher :p They're still in some laptops, but mostly laptops will use an nVidia / ATi / Intel chipset for video these days :) |

Still, I think they are more targeted at HTPC use rather than serious gaming. I'd certainly like to try one out if I got the chance, though edit: apparently the Chrome 530 GT is on par with the Radeon HD 4350 (https://s3gstore.s3graphics.com/) |
