| 724410 | 2008-11-30 22:25:00 | My computer is running properly and at normal speed once it gets going. BUT it's very slow booting and shutting down. And when I hit restart the thing reboots alright but the monitor does not work. Just a dumb blank screen Same thing happens if I try to boot in safe mode. No monitor Same thing if I hit "default" to get into bios setup. JUdging by sounds it goes in, but shows nothing. When I start for a normal bootup I do not see the Post information. The screen does not come on until booting has finished. The first thing I see is the windows "welcome" screen If I try to run a chkdsk scan it all happens with no monitor. MY boot.ini file looks OK. [boot loader] timeout=30 default=multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOW S [operating systems] multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS="Microsoft Windows XP Professional" /fastdetect /NoExecute=OptOut AND if I put my WIN XP pro disk in the player It does nothing. It is recognised as being there but will not run. I was going to try a start/repair. The PCW dvd starts and runs properly.. Even from a cold start it will not run. Does anyone have any ideas. I thought of a re-install of XP but that doesn't want to work. |

After changing the mobo 4-5 times, (this mth), the monitor was the prob lol But I didnt have the slow booting or slow shutdown prob |

| 724412 | 2008-11-30 22:39:00 | My Viewsonic 20" LCD acts up occasionally - it won't always wake up from sleep mode. I came close to getting a new gfx card after finding that it was OK on the analogue connection instead of the usual DVI connection. However, now I fix the problem by turning the LCD off, then on... |
