511922 2007-12-26 05:18:00 I found a thread on a forum for upgrading the HDD on a MySky recorder. It was a UK Forum so it was talking about Sky+, but it appeared to be the Pace recorders they were upgrading.

Since MySky works in a similar way to a Hard Drive Recorder I guess it is possible to put a bigger HDD in it or replace it if it fails.

It would be interesting to see details on how to do it.

511923 2007-12-26 18:28:00 Went to the Warehouse today to buy one of the Sanyo DVD Hard Drive Recorders. Thought they might of been on the Boxing day sale, but they had none in stock. If I could of bought one it would of cost me $199.
:)

It's only $500 less than I paid, let me know when to stop kicking myself.

511927 2007-12-26 19:56:00 Looks good Trev.

As much as I like my Sony HDD RDR-HX750 Recorder I still prefer the user friendly MySky.
I tend to record a lot of stuff that is on Sky in the early hours and it will record 2 channels at once, plus you can still watch one from the Planner while two are recording.

The Series Link on MySky rules, if my HDD Recorder has that I have not yet found it. To be able to Auto Record an entire series of something with just a couple of button presses is cool.

I use my HDD Recorder to Record of Channel 1,2,3, Prime and sometimes to back up something off MySky. And/or to move something off MySky to the HDD recorder so i can burn it to DVD.

I can also send from MySky Or the HDD Recorder to my PC if something I like needs some editing or just to back it up on the PC instead.

511930 2007-12-26 23:29:00 Om my Sanyo, yes you can. Either to HD first for editing, or direct. Peter H (220)
