Ok I'll take up your challenge and correct you.

We're assuming you are either too dumb to know how to write and spell properly, or that you are simply too lazy. It doesn't take any longer to write like an educated person (or somebody with standards) than it does to write like you do.

The thing about bad writing habits is that they have their own nasty habit of creeping in when you can least afford to look ignorant, for example when working under pressure in an examination, on an assignment, or god forbid, in a job application.

Cheers

And This poster (pressf1.pcworld.co.nz) puts you to shame. If I were you I'd go hide under a rock somewhere and polish up my written expression.

513136 2007-06-24 11:10:00 seriously, on a forum/chat room who cares?

as long as we all understand what you're trying to say, capitalisation and minor spelling errors are not the end of the world

513137 2007-06-24 11:12:00 Wow, why is this thread even back. Arguments over spelling and grammar? Come on, get over it guys. beeswax34 (63)
513138 2007-06-30 05:22:00 just for ur information, unless it is an english exam, the examiner doesnt really care about ur spelling as long as ur riting is legible and they can understand u.

For example NCEA allows u to rite in chat speak in their external exams.

However IB is more strict and doesnt allow u to do that, but you wont be marked down on an occasional spelling error

English is my third language...so maybe u are rite. but i wonder why the new zealand herald has published an article i rote?

513139 2007-06-30 05:53:00 I guess the problem is, I find it hard to understand that post.

Good luck communicating in the business world in such a manner that does not negatively impact on your success though.

513140 2007-07-02 23:45:00 In this modern day and age, this is how we communicate.

With regards to the business world, I might be the only person of a group of select people who can bridge the gap between the social and economic hierarchies. Not all businessmen are posh, chivalrous individuals.

Not all of them graduated from Harvard Business School with an MBA and a starting salary of US100,000+. (Another emphasis of AIC is to know about all the top universities and how to get into them.)

Furthermore, I was trying to relate to the original poster by talking in a way that is most familiar with him.

513141 2007-07-03 00:27:00 unless ur younger brother is especially academic, do not urge him to go there. it is very academically challenging and ib students do not have social lives. :)

Hey buddy, whats wrong with academic challenge? You never get anywhere good without trying

You say the nz herald published you. Where? URL???

513142 2007-07-03 01:41:00 the new zealand herald has published an article i rote?
Well, that says a lot about the Herald and the standard of journalism we have come to expect from that abomination of a "News Paper":groan:
