725774 2008-12-04 19:41:00 hello ppl :).. i m new here.. i was planning to buy a new system.. foll is the specification (major items only)..

Processor : Intel C2D E7300
Mobo : ASUS P5K VM
RAM : Transcend 2x2GB 800Mhz
GPU : MSI 9600GT 512MB GDDR3
LCD : Samsung 19' 943NWX
Cabinet : Coolermaster 690

Considering the above rig suggest whether i should buy the

1. Coolermaster eXtreme Power Plus 500W
2. Coolermaster eXtreme Power 550W
3. Coolermaster eXtreme Power 600W

Secondly what do u think bout the mobo? Suggest some other on similar lines if u think otherwise.. intel or asus doesn't matter..

Thirdly if there any major difference in terms of performance b/w the MSI 9600GT 512MB GDDR3 or the MSI 8600GT 512MB GDDR3?

Many thanks in advance!

725775 2008-12-04 20:00:00 Save some money and get a full size ATX motherboard - the one you have chosen is M-ATX. the Asus P5K is good.

Get an Asus or Gigabyte graphics card. Don't get MSI.

725776 2008-12-04 20:19:00 Thanks.. You forgot the SMPS part.. any idea? 104 (14378)
725777 2008-12-04 20:34:00 I had huge problems with the last ASUS board I got, swapped it for a Gigabyte and it was all sweet after that. I would recommend Gigabyte, ASUS has lost a bit of ground with me. DeSade (984)

The 600w one looks best.

725779 2008-12-04 21:09:00 The 600w PSU is overkill, 500w will be fine....I have gone off Gigabyte.... SolMiester (139)
725780 2008-12-05 20:24:00 Thanks for the suggestions. I was thinking of buying thr Corsair VX 450W PSU.. will that work? i think it should since it has over 80% efficiency.. i hope its not on the edge kind of thing.. lol.. 104 (14378)

The 9600 will be a heck of a lot faster than the 8600, but get a Gigabyte or Asus as recommended by jwil1.
