725345 2008-12-03 01:14:00 im trying to buy RAM for my computer but, how is it that i find what type of RAM my computer uses. Because i bought a certain type of RAM and the slot in the middle on the bottom of the chip did not line up. So how can i determine it? LarsJohann (13010)

Or open the case take it out and read the label

725347 2008-12-03 01:18:00 Take the existing one out.
On the little sticker is written what sort it is as well as the quantity.

Like:

PC3200 or DDR400
PC2-4200 or DDR2533

Or such.
Thats what kind you need to get.
